Floods and droughts rarely come without warning; the warning just arrives in the wrong form, or too late. Global forecast products are maps and probabilities that a district officer or an operations manager has no time to interpret, and local gauges are read after the water has already risen.
KAI-Hydro runs a calibrated basin model every day from rainfall forecasts and observed levels at your sites. The output is short: today's level, the expected peak and its date, the rain expected, the margin below your Warning level, and a status of Normal, Watch or Warning. Thresholds are agreed with you, and alerts go out by email or SMS when one is forecast.
For humanitarian and insurance programmes, we design and back-test anticipatory-action triggers and run the forecast that fires them. The result: days of lead time instead of hours, and decisions made on a clear statement rather than a map.
