KAI-Hydropower
Turn more of the river into power, without spilling or running short.
KAI-Hydropower
Reservoir inflow forecasts and release planning for hydropower
Hydropower reservoirs are run on rule curves built from past hydrology, while inflows grow more variable every year. A wet spell handled late means water spilled instead of generated, or a flood downstream; a dry spell handled late means the level falls and generation is cut.
KAI-Hydropower will forecast the inflow every day from calibrated basin models, project the reservoir level and the energy for each release plan you want to test, and warn days ahead when a spill or a low level becomes likely. On a cascade, every plant works from the same forecast.
- Daily inflow forecasts with their uncertainty
- Level and energy projected for each release plan
- Spill and low-level warnings days ahead
- Cascade view and a seasonal outlook for the dry-season plan

The release that keeps the reservoir in its band
The forecast shows where the level is heading under today's release and under the alternatives you want to test, with the spill line and the minimum operating level drawn in, and the energy each plan would generate.
